Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American actor, performer, and songwriter for many years. When she was a kid, Sara was racially taunted by many people in America. In the ninth grade, after a school audition, where she received praises for her singing and acoustics, she began to gain confidence. It not only boosted her confidence but also changed the direction in which she went on to pursue her career. At the age of 22 she was a graduate of New York's Julliard School. At the age of 23 years old, she launched her journey on Broadway with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Then, aged 23 her first film debut was You've Got Mail. Her most memorable break came from her performance as The Lady of The Lake in the first Broadway adaptation of Spamalot. The show won her the Tony Award and received great reviews for her role. Later that year, as Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy for ABC the show, she received more fame. The actress is also a renowned artist and produced an extended show. In her role as an activist, she strives for LGBT equality.
