Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox is a Scottish born and bred singer. She was born on 24 December 1954 in Aberdeen. Dorothy Farquharson and Thomas Allison Lennox are her parents. Lennox studied flute, piano as well as harpsichord in the Royal Academy of Music London for three years throughout the 70s. Her budget was supplemented by a student's stipend and she was employed part-time to earn a living. Lennox was of the opinion that her talents aren't the same as her Royal Academy classmates. So she started thinking of other routes she could choose. Lennox played flute with a group called Dragons Playground in 1976. She left the band just before their appearance in I.T.V's Talent show New Faces. Between 1977 and 1980 she sang in The Tourists. A British pop band from the UK. It was during this time that she got to know Dave Stewart with whom she will form her pop group Eurythmics. Lennox began work on her first solo album Diva in the year 1992. The album was an enormous success both commercially and critically. Nostalgia Lennox's sixth solo release was released in November of 2014. The C.D. includes a collection of Lennoxs favorite blues, soul and jazz tracks from her upbringing. Lepidoptera is a compilation of four improvisations for piano, was released by Lennox in May of 2019. The E.P. The E.P. is an accompaniment to the art installation she made at Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art called Now I Let You Go... Her first independent album. After a brief successes as a part of the new wave band The Tourists in the late 1970s she and fellow musician Dave Stewart went on to gain international recognition as the pop duo Eurythmics in the early 1980s. Lennox's debut album from 1992 Diva included a variety of hits songs such as Why and Walking on Broken Glass. Medusa the album from 1995 studio, features cover versions of No MoreI Love Yous as well as A Whiter Shade of Pale. Her solo studio albums as well as her compilation album contain many songs.
