Lita Rossana Ford (or Lita Ford as she is most commonly referred to, was an American-born British guitarist and singer who led the female-only hard-rock group The Runaways during the late 1970s. The group did not have an enormous following within their home country of the United States. However, their fame grew internationally and especially in Japan. Ford embarked on a heavy-metal solo career when the group broke up in 1979. Following vocal training, she launched her debut solo album, called 'Out for Blood'. This was followed by the release of 'Dancin"On The Edge'. Ford's albums were not very successful and she disappeared for a few years. It was 1988 when she debuted her most successful album "Lita". Kiss Me Deadly (single) and Close My Eyes Forever (ballad) were among her greatest songs. However, the success of her career was not long-lasting and for several years she went under the radar. The album 'Black' was released in 1995, and 'Wicked Wonderland, 15 years later she returned. The album she released was Time Capsule in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
